It seems like summer … stretching out in the grass beside the river. But the little gusts of wind are cool.
We’re off to the ferry again … different ferry.
Top of a steep hill, and the ferry is in the distance, moving away. The brakes will just have to hold until our river ride returns.
This crossing has been in operation since the 1890’s. Various vessels have been in use: a paddlewheeler, a barge and tug, and now (2013) the M/V Sanpoil. Nice … it’ll take 20 or so cars.
We’re right up front … with a great cool breeze. Very nice!
Like the Gifford-Inchelium ferry, the ride across is just 6 minutes.
Similarly, the vista is spectacular!
Again, the fare is free.
Lucky you, more ferries and views.
A languid sunny day for sure!
