It’s summer. The meadows are beautiful … but blistering in the afternoon sun! The shelter of the trees is indeed a great relief … but even the gusts of air are sultry. The lake is cool … but today, the breezes are still.

Oh, look yonder to the mountains. Surely it’s cooler there.
Tortuga says: “Look up!” Sherman Pass is just a few miles away, and is 5575 feet or 1699 meters high. Only 30 minutes to get there!

At the pass, the forest seems endless … the breeze is crisp and cool … there is a quiet place to stay sheltered in the woods! Perfect.

Relief. Tortuga was right: “Look up!”
Good advice, well done for looking up.
