Boring.

A word with lots of meaning. Synonyms for “boring” include tiring, uninteresting, pleasureless.

They also include uneventful, commonplace, unsurprising. Autumn is commonplace. It’s also unsurprising. And it is uneventful … the same thing happens every year! What is it about autumn restfulness replacing summer excitement? Is it boring?

Some say that they’re bored when the level of activity drops to zero. The question is: is that boring, or is it restful? Interestingly the synonyms for boring and restful include this descriptive word: dull.

Autumn though, is anything but dull!

Traveling tortuga enjoys the restful (quiet, peaceful, tranquil … even placid) time of autumn. Dull is not a word we associate with autumn.

It is further interesting that campsites and parks are mostly empty now.

Maybe you too can find an empty place close by! Tumultuous noises seem always close. Boring times too.
