Winter goodbyes …

Snow, snow ... no more snow ...
Snow, snow … no, don’t go!

Love the winter … the snow … the stillness … the fresh brisk air … the rich blue skies … the time to reflect and renew! But by definition, every season has its start and it has its finish …

... but off in the distance is the rebirth of spring!
… in the distance Spring approaches!
Lake Roosevelt beckons to campers!
And Lake Roosevelt beckons!

Here in the Pacific Northwest we’ve had several bouts of winter – spring – winter – spring – winter. Oh, we’ve been out in the camper through it all, and worked and played both in the snow and in the sun.

The beaches look inviting ...
The beaches almost look inviting …

… but it’s not warm enough to sit on the beach yet! It is time to settle in close to the water, with our backs sheltered by the hills.

Hills behind us ...
Hills behind us …
.. and the lake in front of us.
.. and the lake in front of us.

A comfortable life indeed, and a fresh new season is coming. James Parton wrote:

From Heaven I fall, though from earth I begin.
No lady alive can show such a skin.
I’m bright as an angel, and light as a feather,
But heavy and dark, when you squeeze me together.

Alas, winter snows are leaving … for a season.
