Over valley, over hill …

Every branch covered ...
Every branch covered …

The delicacy and beauty of winter surrounds the Pacific Northwest! Weeping willows now weep in silence.

... underneath the willow the light snowfall is constant!
… and underneath the willow, snow falls lightly!

A cup of hot chocolate before work starts a wintery day …

All this from the back of a pickup truck...
… in the back of a pickup truck.

Deer Lake, covered with snow, is quiet and peaceful. That will change come summer … the time to enjoy it is now!

Looks like you could drive over the lake ... but not a good idea!
Looks like you could drive over the lake … but not a good idea!

Snow Song by Frank Dempster Sherman tells it all …

Over valley, over hill,
Hark, the shepherd piping shrill!
Driving all the white flocks forth
From the far folds of the North.
Blow, wind, blow ;
Weird melodies you play,
Following your flocks that go
Across the world to-day.
... Grove and lane and meadow full, Sparkle with their shining wool ...
Grove and lane and meadow full,
Sparkle with their shining wool

Eventually it’s time to move on, to visit, to talk of things great and small …

... time to drive into the lowering sun ...
… time to drive into the lowering sun …

… and finally, to enjoy fresh cooked bread in the company of friends. The endless joy of living and the thrill of simple things! Winter is a good time …

... give thanks!
… to give thanks!
