Not a tale of great woe … but a tale of annoyances for sure. Our truck no longer looks like the above (and you might note, nor is the season like the picture above). A miscreant ignored a stop sign and barreled out into traffic not long ago, where our truck and camper met him. Seems he was enjoying some substances that caused him to ignore traffic, stop signs, and big vehicles. Pity.
The front end of the truck is now gone. The camper suffered from a sudden change in inertia … and that’s not good either. I (and my driver) are wintering in a 5er (that is, a fifth wheel) for now. And to add insult to injury, the tow yard that took the vehicle off the road was burglarized … our camera and many other items are gone. So, the next few posts will be from archives while everything is sorted out.
But we are healthy … Christmas was joyous … the winter snows are beautiful. God is good indeed!
Oh, how awful! At least all are well. Here is to all working out for the best now.
Indeed … there are lots of folks with more difficult problems! Thanks for your well wishes!!
I’m very sorry to hear this…I’m sure that your rig, like ours, is/was part of the family. It’s sad that there are so many uncaring people on the road. Last summer we were rear-ended in our Land Rover and while our vehicle wasn’t totaled, we are still suffering the injuries. The kid who hit us got of his car, shrugged his shoulders and said, “Oh well.” You’re in my thoughts, I pray that God will have you back on the road in no time!
And of course they are not responsible for any missing or damaged items. Been there done that. The only good part of this misadventure that it seems you folks were not badly injured. Only your pride.
Of course. You’re so very correct … it is great that all parties escaped injury! Everything else is replaceable …
Thanks for your prayers!!!
Sad, but the important part is that you are intact!
So true … can’t wait to get back out in the snow … like your recent post http://montucky.wordpress.com/2014/12/30/4048/ “Winter morning at the river”
Oh I remember getting our truck broken into…still upsets us all that is gone in our brand spanking new backpack. Hope your back on the road soon and saved from getting physically hurt!
Thanks … we hope to be back on the road soon! Enjoyed your post for the New Year … “So as the waves come in…what will the new year bring you?” … indeed! https://cozybegone.wordpress.com/2014/12/31/the-end-of-2014-here-comes-2015/
Just tuned in. Really sorry to hear about the truck and your valuables. Glad you all suffered no serious injuries.
Thanks indeed! We expect to be “back up” in a couple of weeks.
Bummer, not a fun start to a new year. Hang in there.
Will do!! Thanks for your comment!
Thank goodness you are ok, but oh ho sad to have to loose your truck and camper. Hope you are able to find something you like with your insurance money.
The truck is being repaired, as well as the camper. Hopefully insurance will cover everything … we’re keeping that one in prayer! Thank you for your message!!
Oh no! So glad that you are both ok. Keeping my fingers crossed your insurance comes through and you can get back on the road soon.
Thank you … we hope to get our truck back this month … yay!
