Horace Greeley said “go west young man” … he saw the west as an opportunity for those “willing to work hard for the opportunity to succeed.” Our work, however, says to us: go south. So south we’ll go!

Eventually we cross the mighty Columbia River and feast on the beauty of the Columbia Gorge. This may take a day or two … just sayin’.

Where have all the people gone? Stunning parks, and equally stunning layover stops.

Mom used to say: “Stop and smell the roses.” Indeed sister! “Seize the day” said Horace in 23 BC (actually he said “carpe diem” … his English wasn’t so good). Amen brother! Even before that, Solomon said: “I know that nothing is better than to rejoice and to do good in their lives, and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor – it is a gift of God.” (Ecclesiastes 3:12-13). Around 950 BC he wrote that.
Sounds good to me.
