fish are jumpin’ …

On Memorial Day weekend, the crowds are heading for the campgrounds … it’s time for us to move along.  Traveling onto native land, we found a rare hidden campsite with an amazing beach.

Yes, the fish were jumping … and with the sound of the rustling wind, it was heavenly.  Chilly, but heavenly!

Start up a fire and enjoy the holiday!

Signs on how to pay, and how to make reservations are posted.  Today the campsites are all empty (except someone waaaay down the west end).

Nice sites, well space apart. All with firepit areas.

Yup … garbage receptacles, running water (see the spigot in the above picture), pit toilets (some with doors, some without), shelters too.  This is truly a rare find!!

Very nice shelters, with picnic tables under.

This is one of those places we could spend weeks at – by the lake, totally uncrowded, truly peaceful.  I’ve given you enough hints … you can find it!

In the next days, we continued east through the Spokane Indian Reservation

The summer warmth has settled in, and the early summer cloud cover is keeping the moisture level high.  Indeed, the livin’ is easy here in the Pacific Northwest.
