It’s time for the NATCOA Fall Colors Rally – and a tour over the North Cascades Highway (Hwy 20) into the “American Alps.” The rally started on the “Westside”, and the campers arrived …

… and these were just the starters. More of the brethren were already at the first campsite – many coming straight down from Canada.

Gary, our wagonmaster, got ’em rounded up and on the road!

Up, out of the cities, then into the mountains we went. As we passed fishing anglers (who were trying to cross the road), we got the stares – truck camper after truck camper, cruisin’. Then, off to a side road, and over a one-lane bridge …

… and into camp.

Just before Highway 20, we stopped at Sauk Campground. On the river, nestled in the trees, and sans power and water – a quiet place to rest. After meetin’ up with everyone, it was soon time to rest. The next morning came quietly in the forest, until Gary, ever the taskmaster, rounded us up for a prompt caravan leaving at 9.

“Get ’em up, Rawhide …” hmmm, I can’t remember how it goes.
